Bwin (or Bwin Interactive Entertainment AG to give them their full title) are an Austrian-based online wagering company. They were founded in 1997 as a small, twelve-man company known as ‘BetAndWin’. The company focused initially on the burgeoning sports betting market, and were one of the first companies to offer live in-play betting.

The company renamed itself Bwin in 2006, and then five years later announced that it was to merge with the UK gaming firm PartyGaming, owners of PartyPoker. The new company called itself Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment.

Promotions
New customers at Bwin Sports are entitled to claim a bonus of up to £20 once they have opened an account at the sports book site. Once registered, players will receive a bonus equal to their first deposit amount, as long as it is a minimum of £10. The maximum bonus that can be claimed is £20. The bonus that is given must be used within ninety days of receipt.

This is not a bonus bet offer – the bonus amount is genuine cash that you can use to place wagers. The only provision is that you must wager through your bonus at least five times before you can cash it out, and on sports bets with minimum odds of 7/10 (1.70) or above.

You are only entitled to this bonus if you are a new customer, and if you use one of the following deposit methods: InstantBanking, Visa, Maestro, MasterCard, Qiwi, Ewire, InstantBank, Diner’s Club, BankTransfer, Kalixa, Wire or PayPal.

The bonus is released in two equal increments.

Aside from this bonus, other promotions are a little thin on the ground at the Bwin Sports site. Listed under the promotions page at the site are the following features: Cash-out, Live Streaming, the Mobile app and eSports. None of those are what we at bettingsite.host would necessarily called ‘promotions’ in our understanding of the term.

Site design
Bwin’s site is certainly a very striking one, as it only really uses three colours – black, grey and yellow. The emphasis is on football, and the site goes a little ‘football crazy’ if a big football event is in close proximity, such as a Champions League match or a World Cup or European Championship qualifier.

All the other sports are listed on the left-hand side of the screen, and all forthcoming, major events in all sports and competitions are listed on the right hand side.

The site strikes a nice balance between content and stats (such as starting prices) that makes it appealing to both sports betting virgins and experts alike.

Cashier options
If there’s one aspect of a sports betting site that Bwin scores highly in, it’s the number of payment methods that they accept. If you do not want to fish out the old plastic from your wallet, then at Bwin you certainly do not have to. While the site does accept Visa, MasterCard and Diner’s Club credit and debit cards, it also accepts Abqoos, EntroPay, EPS, GiroPay, iDeal, InstaDebit, Kalixa, Moneta, Neteller, PayPal, Paysafecard, POLi, Przelewy24, Qiwi, Skrill, Sofort and WebMoney.

Each currency option as its own rules concerning minimum and maximum deposits and withdrawals. Generally, the minimum is $10 or currency equivalent. The maximum is around $10,000 or currency equivalent. There may be fees involved for withdrawals, depending upon which payment method you choose. Make sure you check the site for details before you make a deposit, or you make a withdrawal.

Conclusion
There are certainly plenty of big names associated with Bwin Sports – the site is partnered with three of the biggest European football names in Juventus, Real Madrid and Anderlecht. This sports betting site has been designed with functionality in mind, and players are likely to find it a breeze to use no matter their level of betting expertise.

Our only qualm though is the startling lack of promotions. It seems so rare for a sports book site to offer zero promos beyond their welcome bonus – perhaps this is how Bwin have made their money for all these years?
